Peter Schmeichel is out

Former footballer Peter Schmeichel was knocked out on Saturday. He and Emma Bunton were in the bottom two this week but she got enough public votes to stay in.

The great Dane has had a great run in this show and practised so hard.

Emma by contrast has been busy with Children in Need work this week and had practised a lot less. She finished third equal with the judges but clearly did not impress the public. Schmeichel was bottom of the judges’ scores – as he was last week but his performance was much better.

Erin Boag, Peter’s dance partner, has missed out again on winning the show. Personally, I think she wants to win it too much and that doesn’t go down well with viewers. However, Peter’s samba last week was really bad and although he got through I’m not sure the voting public forgave him.

Anyway, another week, another show, another one bites the dust. The standard is getting higher; my mate Matt Dawon’s waltz was terrific and got the best mark of the series so far: 37.

Next week we will definitely lose a good dancer no matter who gets knocked out.
